Awesome Islands
There are two theme parks right next to each other in Orlando, Florida, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, but this article is about Islands only. In this article, I’ll tell you about each of the worlds and what I like about them!
The Worlds
There are eight worlds in Islands, with each one having different kinds of rides. They are as follows-
- Jurassic Park
- Marvel Super Hero Island
- Port of Entry
- Seuss Landing
- Skull Island: Reign Of Kong
- The Lost Continent
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade
- Toon Lagoon
Jurassic Park
A little walk from Jurassic Park Games, you can wait a little bit to meet Blue at the Raptor Encounter! Blue is only out at certain times, so make sure you have the time right.
This world is on the Southwest area of the park, and has my second favorite ride, the VelociCoaster. This world is between The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, Toon Lagoon and Skull Island: Reign Of Kong. I love this area because it is so tropical, and there are are great rides. There are also lots of restaurants, like The Watering Hole and Pizza Predattoria. There are three rides, Jurassic Park River Adventure, the VelociCoaster, and Pteranodon Flyers, which is only for little kids. The River Adventure takes you through a river, showing you dinosaurs, then takes you into an overrun building, finally sending you down a drop right below a T-rex. The VelociCoaster, which is actually Florida’s fastest and tallest launch roller coaster, according to Orlando Informer, is an awesome roller coaster going through the raptor enclosure
VelociCoaster
I think the ride deserves a whole paragraph because it’s new, it’s fast, and it’s awesome. You do have to be at least 51 inches to ride. The waiting line is actually almost as good as the ride, too, because you see some of the raptors running with the cars, and you also see all the tools. You also see the videos on how to use the lockers inside and the overview on the ride. Once you start, you do a couple laps in the raptor enclosure, passing Delta, Charlie, Blue, and Echo many times. Then, you get sped up and go over the huge arc, which is the tallest point in the park. Then you do some more laps, then you go back and go over the Islands of adventure Lagoon, and there’s a point where you are upside down above it!
Marvel Super Hero Island
The Hulk roller coaster
This is an awesome area. This area is in the Southeast part, and is between Toon Lagoon and Port of Entry. There are four rides, and they are all different types. There is Storm Force Accelatron, where you sit in a Bowl-like car and spin a wheel to spin the car, exactly like Teacups at Disney. Then there’s The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, a 3D ride where you help Spiderman defeat the Sinister Syndicate. There is also Doctor Doom’s Fearfall, where you sit in a seat connected to a tower and go up and down as Doctor Doom collects your fear. I don’t like the Fearfall because I feel like it’s a little slow. And finally, the Hulk roller coaster. The hulk is an incredible coaster. It has a lot of loops in it, so if that isn’t your thing, I wouldn’t ride. The line is a walk through a facility full of gamma experiments. The sound is pretty loud in there, so you may not want to go. This area has a couple shops and restaurants, an arcade, and many opportunities for character encounters!
Port of Entry
This area’s on the east side and is just after the entrance. There are no rides or restaurants, but there are many shops including the Island Market and Export Candy Shoppe, the Ocean Trader Market, and Port Provisions. If you go right from here you will get to Super Hero Island, and if you go left, you’ll hit Seuss Landing.
Seuss Landing
A picture from The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! in Seuss Landing
Located between Port of Entry and The Lost Continent, this area is based of the books by Dr. Seuss. There are four rides, The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!, the Caro-Seuss-el, The Cat in the Hat, and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. There are a few shops, and a couple restaurants including Green Eggs and Ham and Moose Juice, Goose Juice.
Skull Island: Reign Of Kong
This is the smallest area, located on the south side, with no stores, restaurants, or experiences. It only has one ride, Skull Island: Reign Of Kong. The ride takes you through Skull Island on a journey to rescue the expedition captain, who was captured by monsters. The line is pretty creepy, but the ride is a lot less scary.
The Lost Continent
A burger at Mythos restaurant
Like Port of Entry, this area has no rides, but it has shops, such as the All Hallows Eve Boutique, and Treasures of Poseidon, and a couple restaurants such as Mythos and Doc Sugrue’s Desert Kebab House. My favorite restaurant is here, Mythos. It has good food, and if you sit outside, you have an amazing view of the Islands of Adventure Lagoon.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade

I love the Chocolate Cauldrons
This is my favorite world in Islands. There are two restaurants, the Hog’s Head and the Three Broomsticks. At these restaurants you can get Butterbeer, a delicious drink from Harry Potter. I like the Frozen version best. There are some shops, including Ollivander’s and Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods. There are three rides, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (one of my favorites), Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and the Flight of the Hippogriff. The Hippogriff is a short roller coaster that does a couple laps over the line, mimicking Harry’s flight on Buckbeak. The line is usually very short, but so is the ride. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (or Journey for short) is a ride where you act as a Muggle and Harry, Ron, and Hermione brought you to Hogwarts to show you how Quidditch is played. This ride features a trip into the Forbidden Forest and has dementors, so if you don’t like creepy things, you may want to skip. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is an AWESOME roller coaster that takes place near Hagrid’s hut, but then the motorbikes you ride in go wild and take you into the Forbidden Forest. I love this ride because it goes really fast and has lots of turns, and has a point where it goes backwards.
Toon Lagoon
This place is pretty cool, located between Jurassic Park and Super Hero Island. It’s based off a lot of old comics, like Popeye. This place has two rides, both water themed. Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, where you sit in a raft going through a river getting splashed left and right. There’s also Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, a kind of splash mountain where you go through a lot of drop and get soaked in the prosses.
